Why people go

Singapore is dense enough to cover most of its highlights in a few days: Marina Bay Sands and the Marina Bay waterfront, next door to Gardens by the Bay's Supertree Grove, Flower Dome and Cloud Forest (rated Asia's top attraction by TripAdvisor in 2024). Sentosa Island, connected by cable car, monorail or a short causeway, adds Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong beaches alongside resorts and theme parks. The Singapore Zoo, Botanic Gardens (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Merlion round out a typical itinerary.

Indian passport holders are not eligible for visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival in Singapore and must apply for a Singapore e-visa in advance through an authorised agent (Singapore's own consulate no longer accepts walk-in applications). The e-visa costs roughly INR 2,100 in government fees plus an agent service charge, takes 3-5 working days to process, and is typically issued for up to 30 days per visit, valid for up to 2 years on multiple-entry visas. Every traveller, regardless of visa, must also submit an SG Arrival Card online before entry. Indian nationals who separately hold a valid visa from the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, Germany, Switzerland or New Zealand can instead use a 96-hour visa-free transit facility.
