  1. 01
    Let time pass

We plan memorials and long-standing sites, never places of recent or ongoing grief.

  2. 02
    Behave as a guest

Quiet voices, covered shoulders where asked. It is not a funfair.

  3. 03
    No smiling selfies

Photograph the place, not yourself in front of someone’s tragedy.

  4. 04
    Tread lightly

Local guides, local stays, and a small footprint on fragile places.

  5. 05
    Leave something behind

Your money should reach the community that keeps the story.

After the ethics notes on dark-tourism.com, plus each site’s own visitor rules.

Why a code

Curiosity is not the problem.

People have always travelled to battlefields, ruins and memorials. What matters is timing, conduct and who benefits. We follow the ethics guidance published by dark-tourism.com and the rules of each site.

Before every visit

The briefing takes ten minutes.

What happened here, what the site asks of visitors, where photography is not allowed, and how to be present without performing. Then we go in quietly.
